Attention: anyone involved in change!
You are invited to join participants from more than 70 countries around the world. With them, you can listen to five brilliant speakers, and send questions for us to ask. Our theme for 2021 is ‘Creative Collaboration for Our Time’.
This year we also celebrate the book launch of Penny Pullan, our summit host’s latest book: ‘Making Workshops Work: Creative collaboration for our time‘. (Summit participants will be able to get a copy at a special price on the 12th July).
How does it work? Each day, we focus on one inspiring virtual leader, sharing an audio interview lasting 30-40 minutes. The questions we ask are drawn from the summit participants. We have an online discussion for you to join in with. There is no set time – you can access the session and listen to it at a time to suit you. The summit is a unique, virtual way for you to develop your skills, without hassle. There is no charge to register to listen in to each speaker via the web each day.
Who should attend: Anyone interested in making change work. Anyone who works with people to change processes, systems, culture, knowledge and/or the structure of their organisations! Perhaps you’re involved with projects and programmes bringing change? If so, you’ll know how important it is to keep developing. In this free virtual summit, your host Penny Pullan will ask your questions to leading speakers and thinkers from around the world, covering: leadership, facilitation, the use of visuals, disruption, risk, research, workshops in practice and more. All of this will help you to collaborate creatively in our time.

Dr Penny Pullan, our founder and host, says: “Here we are, over a year into dealing with COVID, wanting to move forward and to be really effective as we work with others. Over the last year, I’ve written a book looking at how we can collaborate creatively, especially through workshops, whether virtual, hybrid or in-person and it will be launched during the Summit!
As we emerge into some sort of new normal, whether that is continuing to work remotely, in a hybrid way or partly in the office and part remote, we all want to make sure that we can work well and collaborate.
We have five speakers all with unique contributions to make, on leadership and collaboration, on disruption, on using visuals for communication, on using workshops practically, plus on how to use workshops in this new era.
As well as hearing these superb sessions, let’s also tap into each other’s knowledge and experience. During the summit, our LinkedIn group will be the focus where we share what works and inspire each other to become even better. Once you register, you’ll receive the link to join this group by e-mail.”

Making Workshops Work: Creative collaboration for our time
Dr Penny Pullan, your Summit Host, will kick-off your summit on 12th July. Her session will be ‘Making Workshops Work: Creative collaboration for our time’. On that day only, her new book of that title will be available for just 5% of the full price!
Her previous book ‘Virtual Leadership: Practical Strategies for Making the Best of Virtual Work and Virtual Teams’ became a bestseller in the pandemic and is recommended by CEO Today top five books for CEOs to read in lockdown.
While most of the world went virtual in 2020, Penny went virtual nineteen years before. 9/11 grounded her as she was about to fly to her first programme’s two week kick-off meeting in New York. Instead, it had to happen virtually! Since then, she has supported organizations and individuals all over the world and across industries to be more effective virtual leaders, across industry sectors from banking to telecoms, and pharma. She sees core elements in how we collaborate creatively whether virtual, hybrid or in-person, and is keen to.
Penny is a director of Making Projects Work Ltd, and she has hosted Virtual Summits since 2010. You can contact Penny on Twitter at @PennyPullan or by responding to the summit e-mails.

Gordon MacKellar
Bonus Day
Visual Communication Skills for Workshops and Meetings
Gordon loves projects; the challenges, the variety, the people and the places. He accidentally became a project manager when he was recruited as a Factory Manager with no factory; he had to build it first! He co-founded Prime Design Projects, which specialise in the design, installation, integration and commissioning of factory operations and production lines around the world. Gordon’s project teams usually involve teams from at least 6 different countries.
Communication is difficult across borders and time zones. The use of graphics and images has helped Gordon to clarify ideas, convey meanings and build relationships. Broadband speeds, mobile phones and virtual meetings technology have now opened up a whole new world of communicating visually. The challenge now is to understand how to make the best use of it!
